where are they now

G-d is not an American

not even earthling, I’d imagine

for the life of me, I can

not figure a value for these lines

boundaries, I might break, build, push,

but how

do we measure

these borders an’ crosses

Have you ever dreamed of another sun?

another gravity to hold you,

another planet where there are no plans,

no cities,

just an architecture of pleated matter

arching overhead

housing the alien in us all,

no eagle, no illegal

7th grade rage of weakness,

I pounded my fist to the face

of a girl named Miracle.

I wonder where she is now.

Have you ever dreamed of another sky?

if a G-d is

omnipotent, omnipresent,

It’d be there too,

signs of life

on another planet

tickle my nose

like pollen,

3rd grade, rumors of lice

all the boys bullied

a girl named Divinity.

I wonder how she is doing.
