It is well understood that inequitable abortion access creates a public health dilemma, but what is the impact of inequitable access to advocacy? In this workshop, we’ll define the terms advocacy, equity, and reproductive justice; reflect and discuss participation in past advocacy actions; explore the many boundaries to advocacy; and brainstorm ways we as individuals and organizations can incorporate equity into our advocacy efforts. Participants will also learn more about Patients to Advocates — an innovative, patient-centered, leadership development fellowship for people who have had an abortion and reside in Northeast Ohio.
Interactive Workshop: Herbs Traditionally Used to Maintain the Female Reproductive System
The purpose of this workshop is to provide women and proponents of the reproductive justice movement an introductory level working knowledge of medicinal herbs that have traditionally been used to support the female reproductive system. Learn practical ways to take agency of one’s reproductive well-being. As we take time to nurture connecting practices with our selves we become better able to recognize our contribution to a greater body of personal and sexual health. This workshop creates space to plan for implementation of such practices. Learning to be in the body will not only affect an individual’s overall well-being, it can emphasize the sensations needed to be fully immersed in an orgasmic state, making for an all around fuller, more pleasurable sexual experience. This has the potential to deeply affect relationship with one’s self and with one’s intimate partner(s).
